Fix MSVCP100.dll Error in Windows 7

MSVCP100.dll is a Windows 7 OS system file. Based on Dynamic Link Library (DLL) technology it is required to get an application started particularly one that comes from an external source.

Replace the Associated Program

A program related to this file may not start up in tha absence of the system file in your computer. In such an instance, replace the related program and solve the issue.

1. Go to Control Panel.
2. Choose Uninstall a Program.
3. Choose the program that is not starting
4. Start the Uninstall wizard
5. Complete the process as instructed
6. Restart the computer
7. Go through the setup again to reinstall the program on your computer.

Replace Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64)

MSVCP100.dll is included in Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable 64 bit Package. By reinstalling the entire package you can solve the problem. It is available for free on the Microsoft website.

Get the Corrupted Registry Hives repaired

Use of a System File Checker (SFC) will help you ascertain whether the file is missing and to replace it. To run such a scan use the Microsoft Windows installation disc and then give the instruction Run, SFC /ScanNow.

Replace the System to an Earlier State

Use the System Restore tool to do this. It might be able to resolve the MSVCP100.dll error by returning the registry to its earlier state.

1. Go to Click Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore.
2. Enter the Next button.
3. Choose a restore point for the system restore point.
4. Enter the Next button.
5. Go through the instructions on the menu.
